External software

Client part:
To watch the stream you need Video Lan Client. This is a free media player that can almost play every movie file. It is also used as the decoding/encoding server.

Other software that you could use is Windows Media Player. But this is for windows only.

Server part:
You need the Video Lan Client. You can either use the windows version or the linux version depending on your type server you are going to use.
Wowza Media Server Pro is an optional server to add Live flash streaming in H.264 and MP4A audio.
XAJAX is a PHP framework to develop ajax web applications. You can either install XAJAX in the PHP include dir or you can install it in your webroot. The software is tested with the 0.2.5 stable version.
Only PHP5 is enough. The XAJAX framework is included in the Dreambox Restream package.
