Ziggo
Ziggo has changed the cable network in such a way, that it is not possible to see other frequencies than those that are active in your own location. This means, that my source for generating the Ziggo Dreambox Channels, can only provide the data for their region.
So unfortunately, there will be missing regions for the Ziggo channels. I can't fix that :(
Due to some people asking for supporting more cable regions, I updated the code to support more regions. Now there are four cable companies supported with my script. These companies are UPC, Ziggo (Former @Home and Casema & Multikabel) and CAIW.
This will cover I guess for about 75% of the Netherlands. So it is no longer Ziggo only channels. The code is expanding :D
Today a new version of my code for generating channels lists for your Dreambox. It did had some problems with UTF-8 special characters. That is fixed now. And during the code change, a lot of changes are made. The code is now more readable. Maybe it will be released once...
A few other fixes are that not all the SD channels where replaced with there HD replacement. There are no duplicate channels any more.
Changed the channel boutique name
Made the code cache the external content, so the generating of the files and downloading them should be a bit improved.
Ziggo have changed some channel frequencies to a new 256-QAM modulation. It toke for a while to figure out the changes, but I did notice that some channels that where using the 256-QAM modulation did not work anymore.
After a week of testing and reading, I found out that my code did not look at the QAM modulation at all. It turns out, that Ziggo was doing only 64-QAM, so my list was always working. Now the Dreambox Ziggo Channel list software is looking at the modulation and take that in account with the frequency information.
It turned out that a very stupid programming error caused that the Dreambox Ziggo Channel list was not generated right. For some regions it was working like expected, and for other regions it had problems. This was pointed to me on the Satloads.nl message board. Thanks for that!
So you can download again the right channel list!
The Ziggo dreambox channel list page is update so that you now can choose between a channel list that contains both the SD and HD channels. This is handy for non HD receivers which cannot handle the HD stream.
And there is an option to replace the SD channel with the HD version. This means that you will need a HD capable receiver. The idea is that you don't need channels twice in the list. If you have a HD receiver and HD channels, you don't need the SD channels.
At this time (april 2014) it is not possible to provide all the Ziggo frequenties. You can read here why I can't produce them anymore.
