A new version of Dreambox ReStream is just released. This is version 2.0.8 and it is the latest version for the 2.0.x branch. The biggest feature is the adding of picons support. The Dreambox ReStream will try to get the picon from your Dreambox when you zap to a channel. It will be shown below the player.
The rest are most css issues which are fixed. A full change log can be found on the download page.
Future plans
For the new branch of 2.1.X there will be no native Windows support anymore. Some how that gives a lot of problems, and a lot of questions :) . So there is now a Dreambox ReStream Virtual Box Live Image version, which can be run on Windows. The VirtualBox Image is an Ubuntu based Linux server with all the necessary parts installed and configured. The only setting you have to make is the IP address of the dreambox.
And the support through Wowza is also being dropped. This is because it is more configuration, and harder to get it to work. And it was introduced for better flash streaming. But with VLC 2.0 it is possible to create iPhone chunks. Together with the support for iPhone chunks in the JW player, there is no need for true Flash streaming. This will reduce the load on the servers, and less tolerant for mistakes.
The new version will get better setup support. There will information about port forwarding for getting the Virtual Box Live image online. And more to come.... New idea's and suggestions are welcome!
